Shelby is faculty in Sustainability Studies in the School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Sustainability Sciences (SoMAS) at Stony Brook University. She received her Ph.D. in Ecology at Colorado State University and a B.S. in International Agriculture and Rural Development from Cornell University. She completed postdoctoral fellowships at Cornell University and New York University.

Research Associate
Docker is a part-time researcher at Stony Brook and full-time researcher at New York University. They investigate the complex externalities of animal agriculture and potential soil carbon additionality from regenerative agriculture. Docker graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and French from NYU in 2022.

Ashley Torres

Research Associate
Ashley is a full-time researcher at Stony Brook and part-time researcher at New York University. She studies the land use and management impacts of expanding industrial animal agriculture in South Asia. She graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Studies from NYU in 2026.
